A Manchester coroner has recently urged a private hospital to review how it investigates serious incidents, following the death of a Manchester man who underwent gastric band surgery. He was subsequently admitted to the Spire Hospital in Manchester for an apronectomy to remove the excess skin he had accrued following significant weight loss, but sadly suffered complications and died 5 months later.
