Medical accident claims can be expensive. It is therefore crucially important for the legal costs to be carefully considered at the outset and properly managed throughout the life of the case.
There are a number of different ways in which a medical accident claim can be funded:-
Conditional Fee Agreements (CFA)
A CFA is a form of No Win - No Fee Agreement and is now the most popular method of funding a medical accident claim.
Under a CFA, if you do not win compensation you will not have to pay us for the work we have carried out. You should not therefore let worries or fears about legal costs prevent you from seeking justice for your medical accident.
Optional insurance is available to cover the cost of certain medical reports that might be required.
We assess each medical accident claim on a case-by-case basis to determine whether CFA funding is right for you.
The Government has withdrawn Legal Aid for most medical accident claims to save money, so public funding will no longer be available for the vast majority of medical accident claims. The Government expects solicitors to fill the void by offering No Win - No Fee Agreements.
Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI)
We always check to see if you already have LEI on any of your insurance policies, eg home or motor insurance.
We can tell you if your medical accident claim is likely to be covered by LEI and will liaise direct with the insurance company.
If you are covered then you will not have to pay any legal costs (up to the limit of your insurance indemnity).
