Waiting Lists Grow at Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital

It has been announced today (8/9/14) that Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, Devon, has over 100,000 patients that are waiting for follow up appointments. 36,000 have breached their ‘see-by date’  and 5,000 have been classed as ‘high risk’ or ‘time critical’.

Specialist Clinical Negligence lawyer, Oliver Thorne, comments:

‘This is a shocking statistic and must be extremely worrying for those ‘high risk’ patients in particular. It is frustrating for patients who have suffered harm, not as a result of a medical procedure going wrong, but by having to wait for an appointment. In cancer patients for example, time is usually of the essence.  This is bad news for anyone living in Devon as Derriford Hospital provides specialist services to patients throughout the county.’

Oliver has dealt with many cases against Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust as well as other Trusts around the country. If you, a family member or a friend are concerned about the treatment you have received at Derriford Hospital or elsewhere, then Oliver would be happy to provide you with a FREE initial consultation by phone, email or in person.
